Stevenson-Carson School District Summer School


The Stevenson-Carson School District will be offering a summer school program during the summer of 2020. The goal of this program is to allow high school students the opportunity to recover credit for course work.his program will allow for students to achieve this in an atmosphere that is conducive to learning. 



The summer school program will meet for one 5-week session.  This session will run from June 29-July 31.  Classes will be held Monday through Thursday, 8:00 am to 12:00 pm.  Students may only sign up for core classes; using APEX learning (on-line) system. High school students will earn .5 credits for each completed course.  Only one course will be attempted at a time. 

Students will only be allowed to miss a total of three school days that must be followed by a parent note and phone contact.  Students who miss more than three days, whether excused or not, will forfeit their tuition and credit. 


LOCATION:  The Summer School Program will be held at SHS. 

COST:  The tuition for the Summer School Program is $35.  Tuition must be paid at the SHS/WRMS office and made payable to Stevenson-Carson School District.

 APPLICATION:  Students must complete an application to be considered for acceptance into the program.  Only fifteen students will be admitted into the program.  Priority will be given to upperclassmen.  Applications may be obtained from the office or counseling center at SHS/WRMS.  Applications must be submitted to Cheryl Adams or Tracy Holzauer by May 29, 2020..


GRADES:  Students will be graded on the SHS/WRMS grading scale of A, B, C, D, or F. Students are expected to obtain 60% in order to pass. 


CREDITS:  High School Students will have the opportunity to earn .5 credit or 1.0 credit depending on hours.


Rules and Regulations:


  1. Students are expected to arrive to the school on or before 8:00 am.  They will remain on site until 12:00 pm.
  2. Students will adhere to SHS rules and policies pertaining to behavior, dress code and academic performance.
  3. Students who exhibit behaviors such as disruption or failure to complete any work will be dismissed for that day.  If the behaviors are exhibited a second time the student will be dismissed from the program and will forfeit their tuition and credit.
